Where to Buy Cheese, Food and Wine in Paris
Food Streets That Are Easy and Lively 🥖
These streets are compact, walkable, and packed with excellent producers — perfect for browsing:
- Le Marais: Rue de Bretagne – near Marché des Enfants Rouges
- Left Bank: Rue Cler
- Montmartre: Rue des Martyrs
- Arc de Triomphe: Rue Poncelet
Great for everyday produce, bakeries, butchers, small cheese shops, boulangeries, and casual wine stops.
Open Air Markets 🧺
Markets are wonderful for fruit & veg, charcuterie, picnic supplies and browsing local French life:
- Marais / 11th: Marché Bastille (Sundays)
- Left Bank: Avenue de Saxe (Thursdays and Saturdays) + Boulevard de Grenelle (Wednesdays and Sundays)
- If you go to Versailles, there's a wonderful, old market there: Place du Marché Notre-Dame
For cheeses, markets are fun but specialty shops below will have deeper selections.
