QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What wines are served in the tastings?
In our main event "A Sommelier's Wine Tasting Tour de France" and the private tastings, we pour 6 fabulous French wines:
- 1 champagne (because life needs bubbles)
- 2 whites
- 3 reds to round things out.
All are handpicked from small growers who prioritize quality over quantity.
You’ll sip your way through most of France’s iconic regions: Champagne, Loire, Burgundy, Rhône/Languedoc, and Bordeaux.
We may take a step aside too and serve you something unusual.
And what food?
Our plate includes 5 artisan cheeses and charcuterie. The perfect companions for the wines!
Fresh traditional baguette is served. Straight from the boulangerie!
How about the Champagne tasting lunches?
You'll enjoy three carefully selected Champagnes from small, independent producers — each offering a different style (e.g. Extra-Brut, Pinot Noir–driven cuvée, and Rosé). Each glass is paired with food designed to complement the wine: smoked salmon, artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and a seasonal dessert like fruit tart or chocolate gâteau. Vegetarian alternatives are available on request.
Can you accomodate diet restrictions?
We aim to please! Here’s how we adapt:
- Cheese or meat only: Let us know, and we’ll get you larger portions of your preference.
- Gluten-free: Crackers are available, but please request in advance.
- Vegan: Options are limited, but we can provide nuts and veggie bites. A little notice goes a long way!
How about group size?
- Public Tastings: Up to 12 guests in rare cases. On average, we host 6–8 people
- Private Tastings: We can host up to 25 seated guests
- Group Events / Parties: Up to 35 people standing, over 40 in the summer given our terrace
Whether it’s intimate or lively, the vibe is always welcoming.
How does this compare to other wine tastings in Paris?
Paris has many great wine experiences. At ARCHIBON, we keep things fun, relaxed, and all about great wine — with a small-group feel in a quaint, cozy setting.
What language is spoken?
- Public Tastings: English only, unless otherwide noted.
- Private Events: English or French - your choice!
Where does the experience take place?
We’ll meet at ARCHIBON, at 13 rue Rougemont, 75009 Paris. Look for the door with antique tiles showing a milkmaid - she’s your sign!
We’re a stone’s throw from the Louvre, Palais Garnier, and Galeries Lafayette.
The nearest metro stop is Grands Boulevards (Exit 6: Rue Rougemont) on lines 8 and 9.
Is walking involved?
Not at all! This is a seated event in a private, cozy bar. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wine and conversation.
Is Archibon accessible to people with disabilities?
The entrance is wheelchair accessible (just a tiny step under 2 inches). We’ll happily arrange seating to ensure comfort and a great view of the presentation. Just give us a heads-up!
Sadly, the restroom isn’t wheelchair accessible, and we deeply apologize for this limitation.
How about infants and children?
Well-behaved children and even the occasional infant are welcome - as long as you give me a heads-up upon booking. This is a wine-focused experience, so while it’s mostly geared toward adults, I’m happy to make space for a kid or two if they can hang out quietly.
How about non-drinking adults?
Non-drinking adults are also welcome and get a discount - just let me know when booking so I can plan accordingly. They'll get the same food and a selection of soft drinks / juices.
Can I buy wine after the experience is over?
Absolutely! You can purchase the wines we taste - and many more!
What is the cancellation policy?
We align with Airbnb and industry standards and we now apply a 1-day cancellation policy for our main event. This means that if guests cancel at least one day (24 hours) before the experience start time, they will receive a full refund.
Champagne tasting lunches and private experiences have a stricter 7-day cancel and refund policy but can be rescheduled until 24 hours before the booked time.
